Businesses order custom mugs to help save environment

A number of businesses are using custom mugs instead of paper cups in their office kitchens to help cut down on waste, according to a blog post published Monday.

The custom mugs are one of the latest trends in the "greening" of the promotional items industry, promotional items consultant John Simonetta wrote for the Ecopreneurist blog. They come emblazoned with company names and logos, and are completely reusable, so employees do not have to throw away a paper cup each time they have a cup of coffee.

"[T]he promotional products industry adapts to the needs of their audience very fast," Simonetta wrote.

Increasing demand for environmentally friendly custom mugs and other promotional items has led manufacturers to step up their production of these items in recent years, and their price could come down very soon, the blogger noted.
